Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

Omniguard is a Shopify app operated by Humble Apps. It helps merchants track product prices, display EU Omnibus / UK CMA reference prices on the storefront, and manage Lowest Price Guarantee claims. This policy explains what information we process when you install or use the app, why we process it, and how you can exercise your rights.

Information we process

When you install Omniguard, Shopify grants the app access to data needed to run the Service. Depending on how you use the app, that may include:

  • Shop and account details — store domain, install session tokens, and the merchant contact details Shopify provides for authentication.
  • Catalog and pricing data — product and variant identifiers, titles, SKUs, prices, and currencies used to build the signed price history and reference-price metafields.
  • Order context for claims — limited order information when a merchant verifies a Lowest Price Guarantee claim.
  • Claim form submissions — if a shopper uses the storefront claim form, we may receive their name, email, order number, competitor URL, and message. That information is stored for the merchant who operates the store.
  • Technical logs — standard server logs such as IP address, request path, and timestamps, used only to operate and secure the Service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use customer data for advertising networks.

How we use this information

We process the information above to:

  • Provide price tracking, storefront blocks, and claim workflows
  • Maintain the hash-chained audit log merchants can export
  • Authenticate the app inside Shopify Admin
  • Respond to support requests and keep the Service reliable
  • Comply with law, including Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks

Where data is stored and who processes it

Omniguard runs on infrastructure operated by Render.com. Shopify provides the Admin API, webhooks, and billing that power the app. Those processors act on our instructions to host and deliver the Service.

We do not share merchant or customer personal information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Humble Apps, our merchants, or others.

Retention

Price history, settings, and claim records are kept while the app remains installed and is needed to provide the Service. After a merchant uninstalls Omniguard, Shopify sends a shop redaction request (typically within 48 hours). We then delete sessions, settings, price snapshots, and claim records associated with that shop.

When Shopify asks us to erase a specific customer's personal data, we remove identifying fields from matching Lowest Price Guarantee claims for that shop.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Merchants can also request deletion by uninstalling the app, which triggers Shopify's redaction flow.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process information to perform the contract of providing Omniguard and for related legitimate interests such as securing and improving the Service. Data may be processed outside your country of residence by our hosting provider.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of Omniguard after an update means you accept the revised policy.
